With the conclusion of the recital at Castletown House on June 19th, Luke Welch has completed his 2015-16 concert season – and a notably active season to be sure. This two-hour performance in Celbridge, Ireland, featured a diverse programme of works by Scarlatti, Chopin, Schubert, Morawetz, and Schumann. Watch a video clip taken from this concert here.
The season began in September 2015 with a performance at 't Mosterdzaadje in Santpoort-Noord, in the Netherlands. This recital generated a notably positive response from the enthusiastic audience, including a three-set reprieve to end the evening. A few weeks later, in mid-October, Welch continued the season with his fourth visit to the Pilgrim Father's Church in historic Delfshaven (Rotterdam). These recitals were a part of the international 'The Universal Language' album-release tour.
Late in November 2015 he made his London, England debut with two recitals, beginning at St. Pancras International Church. The following day, he continued with an appearance at the world-renowned St. Martin-in-the-Fields: 'Pianists of the World' series in Trafalgar Square to a capacity audience. As the season continued into 2016, Welch returned home to Canada for a series of recitals in Montreal at L'Oasis Musicale (Cathedrale Christ Church), followed by appearances at Trinity Anglican Church in the nation's capital Ottawa, and First United Church in Waterloo, Ontario.
As the season continued into the spring, Luke returned to London, England with recitals at St. George's in Beckenham and St. Anne's in Kew Green. With
